There are a list of things you need to prepare when you are applying for a job, especially in the Philippines. Because it is important for an employer to have some background check on his/her future employee. This will help to build some trust within both parties.
1. Your Resume/ CV A resume contains your basic information, contact details, work experience and trainings, educational attainment, affiliations, achievements, skills and you may also add a character reference.
2. Certificates/ Portfolio Certificates will be a proof on your achievements, work performance and trainings. Portfolio is needed for art related jobs, so they can view your sample works.
3. Dress up Of course you need to look presentable, wear comfortable clothes that is appropriate with the job you are applying for. Mostly they wear slacks and long sleeves or ¾ polo shirts.
4. Bring ID and pen Yes, you should always bring an ID. Every time you enter a certain building they will ask for your Identification card. Also bring a pen, in case they might give you a long exam. ^__^ Normally they just ask you to fill-up some papers and then eventually they will give you the exam.
5. Interview If you pass the exam, they might schedule you for an interview. Usually they just ask something about yourself, how well do you know about the job?, expected salary, your strength and weaknesses. Just be truthful with your answers. And thank them for considering your applications.
6. Requirements Congratulations you’ve come this far, but this is just the start of a great journey. If you pass the interviews and the exams, they will give you a list of requirements that you need to provide them before the orientation.
You need to prepare the following: Transcript of Records Diploma Certificate of Employment (disregard if it’s your first job) Medical Certificate Birth Certificate/ NSO Marriage Contract (if married) Birth Certificate (Children/ Qualified dependent) NBI or Police Clearance Barangay Clearance SSS ID/ E-4/ E-1 TIN ID PHILHEALTH ID PAG-IBIG FUND Online Registration (Tracking No.) BIR 2316 (disregard if it’s your first job) 1×1 and 2×2 ID pictures Occupational permit (if working along Quezon City) Photocopy of at least 2 valid ID Long Brown Envelope
7. Orientation After completing all the requirements, you’re now ready for the Orientation. Just a piece of advice, listen carefully during orientation… They might give you a surprise quiz. ^__^
And finally, always bring extra money or meal/snacks to fill your tummy for the long day.
